Gold Inlays
Unlike crowns, inlays do not cover the whole of the tooth but are used to treat areas of decayed tooth, usually at the back of the mouth. An inlay is created from an impression taken of your tooth and is often made from gold, as it is such a durable and hard-wearing material that will not tarnish.
After any decay has been removed, the inlay is fixed in the tooth with dental cement. It is carefully positioned so it matches the exact shape of the biting surface and permanently bonded to improve the overall strength of your tooth.
